Poetic Pastel is a positive and collaborative independent cultural project. In tune with the deep ecology movement, and focusing on Art, Publishing, Textile and Gardening, Poetic Pastel is an open conversation inspired by natural elements, warm memories, rhythm, colours, feelings, relationships, literature, poetry, tea culture and daily life. Poetic Pastel’s various projects result in a series of exhibitions, gatherings, performances, writings, research, publications, contributions, textiles and quotidian objects. Through togetherness and initiatives, Poetic Pastel hopes to help restore respect for and appreciation of nature. We also wish to highlight that humans are part of nature.
Founded in 2014 by artist Johanna Tagada Hoffbeck, the initiative is presently co-directed with Jatinder Singh Durhailay and Juliette Riegel. The diverse projects of Poetic Pastel and Poetic Pastel Press include numerous collaborations and multiple friendly contributors; find them here.
